Habits of Mind
While the 3Es guide our curricular focus, EMBER guides our social-emotional learning. Based on the Habits of Mind from Stanford University, we focus on five of habits that we feel are the most important to middle schoolers.
Excellence - quality of work, attention to detail
Mindfulness - organization, time management, on-time and present in body and mind
Be Creative - design process, problem solving, original work
Empathy - learning to work well with others, kindness
Responsible Risk - asking for help, volunteering to perform/answer questions, doing challenging work
We practice these habits in all we do, both in and outside of the classroom.
