Science, Tech, Engineering and Math (STEM)
Before STEM became a standard education abbreviation, Howard Street used Einstein as our name for integrated science and math. While many know us for the arts, STEM is at least 120 mins of instruction each day.
6th grade : Earth/Space science, accelerated 6th math,
7th grade : Life Science/Biology, accelerated 7th math
8th grade: Intro to Chemistry/Physics, Algebra I
Fitness and Health
Fitness and Health work to teach lifelong habits and skills. Besides formal classes, we also offer outside active break time after lunch, Wednesday walks, Dance-Dance Revolution, and many other active options.
6th grade : year long fitness/dance and health
7th grade : semester fitness and health, dance elective
8th grade: semester fitness and health, dance elective
