About Us
Howard Street Charter School is a small middle school serving 150 students grades 6-8 throughtout the Salem-Keizer area.
Our Curriculum is based on the 3Es: Einstein (math and science), Ellington (the fine and performing arts) & Esperanto (the Humanities and Language).

The non-audition choir begins Tuesday.
Choir begins next week but there are now two morning choirs. The non-audition choir is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders. It will be every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The Concert Choir (audition required) will begin Wednesday and meet 5 days a week. There will be a supervised open gym in the mornings starting at 7:40am as well so students arriving early need to go to the gym.
Open House is Sept 13.Open House will be at 6pm-7:30pm on Monday, Sept 13. Remember that is also our first release day. Hope to see you there!
Enrichment Academy begins Tuesday.Our after school activities begin Tuesday. There are many clubs going on. There will be a one time $20 fee for students to attend as many sessions as they wish. Get the sign up sheet here.
Are you ready for school?Our office is open at Howard Street and you should have received a welcome back letter that included a number of enclosed papers including an invitation to the Back-to-School picnic, elective choice sheets, a list of supplies ( 6th graders and 7th and 8th graders) and more details about the beginning of school. Feel free to come in and pay your fees this week. Planners are in and lockers are ready for you. 7th graders will get their own individual locker and 8th graders will get to pick their lockers.
Remember your summer work!
Remember all 7th and 8th graders, you have some review work to do before Sept 3rd. 7th graders, go the class pages to get the book report if you need another copy. Also remember to send in your Spanish conjuguemos.com scores. 8th graders, remember your Spanish as well!
