About Us
Howard Street Charter School is a small middle school serving 162 students grades 6-8 throughout the Salem-Keizer area.
Our Curriculum is based on the 3Es: Einstein (math and science), Ellington (the fine and performing arts) & Esperanza (the Humanities and Language).
We stress proficiency, performance and project-based learning at all levels.
There is no school Monday
Please remember our Enrichment Academy is over. Please pick up your student at 3:15pm each day.
8th grade deadline is Friday, June 1
All service hours and major projects must be in by June 1 to qualify for Breakaway. Also make sure to turn in your permission slip with your $25 to Robin in the office.
Decades of Disney is June 4
Our all-school performance is Monday, June 4 at 7pm. Dance, band, orchestra and choir all perform using a Disney theme. See you there!
Mulan Photos
We have Photo DVDs from the performances of Mulan Jr on sale now! The Photo DVD includes hundreds of pictures from the show and backstage as well. The photo DVD is $9.00. All proceeds from the sale go to help fund Breakaway. All orders are due by Wednesday May 23rd.
Bring us your Box Tops!
Box Tops for Education donates 10cents per box top to schools that turn in the small coupons. Howard Street has participated for a number of years but with a tight budget, every Box Top counts. So take the time to cut out your Box Top and bring it to the office. There is a special mail box in the staff room where you can place them and we will do the rest. Support Howard Street through the things you already buy!
