Bio:
Catherine Mink had been an educator for 30 plus years prior to her retirement in 2004. She served as the Director of Elementary Education for Salem-Keizer School District for five years after serving as principal of Hayesville, Keizer and Sumpter Elementary Schools. She also was the Coordinator for Federal Programs after teaching elementary students in Title I schools.
Mrs. Mink is very excited about serving in the Leadership Model at Howard Street Charter School as principal. This model is a collaborative one in which, Lead Teachers Nancy Fischer and Molly Goldstein, will together provide instructional leadership for our staff and students.
A graduate of Oregon State University with a BS in Education (Social Studies), and a Masters in Education (Handicapped Learner), Cathy also attended Portland State University earning her administrative credential. Throughout her career, Cathy has attended numerous trainings, workshops, and in-services to keep up with the ever changing world of education and bring the best of quality education to the students and staff in her schools.
In addition to finding great energy and fulfillment in the world of education, Cathy enjoys friends, playing tennis, eating 'out', and reading. Most importantly, her family is her first priority and brings great joy to her life.
