Bio:
Molly Goldstein has been teaching all kinds of science for 21 years, including physical sciences, biology, chemistry, environmental sciences and a science and society integrated course. She taught four years at Dallas High School, 9 years at South Salem High School, 6 years at The Community Schoolhouse and the past two years here at Howard Street. Prior to coming to Howard Street, Mrs. Goldstein co-founded and co-lead the Community Schoolhouse, a charter high school for at-risk youth in downtown Salem for six years, with her husband, Andrew.
Mrs. Goldstein earned her Bachelor's Degree in the Geosciences and Physical Geography at Oregon State University and her Master in Science Education at Western Oregon University. She has taught Science Methods at Willamette University in the Master of Arts in Teaching program, and has co-lead an international Youth Environmental Program known as the International Schoolhouse. She has conducted trainings with teachers and students in Argentina, Brazil, China, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Australia, Israel, Palestine, Uganda and South Africa. She has earned numerous awards such as the Sci-Mat Fellowship, the Christa McAuliff Fellowship, Oregon Science Teacher of the Year, as well as other of local awards and professorships.
