Bio:
Jaqui Forney has been teaching for 16 years in a variety of situations. She began by teaching music and theater for ages toddler through middle school at the Conservatory for Music in Albany. From there she spent a year teaching Alternative Education in the Jefferson School District for middle school and high school students. She has also taught 6th grade and a grade 1-3 blend in the Jefferson School District. In Salem, she has recently taught fourth grade for two years at Myers Elementary, and is in her fifth year at Howard Street.
Mrs. Forney attended Hesston College in Kansas where she earned her Associate degree, Western Oregon where she earned her Bachelors degree, and Oregon State University where she earned her Master of Arts in Teaching.
When not busy planning creative lessons for her students or surprises for colleagues, she enjoys creative writing and writing poems, crafts of all sorts, water color painting and exercising. She lives in Monmouth with her husband, Thomas, and their dogs on their 22 acre farm.
