About Us
Howard Street Charter School is a small middle school serving 150 students grades 6-8 throughtout the Salem-Keizer area.
Our Curriculum is based on the 3Es: Einstein (math and science), Ellington (the fine and performing arts) & Esperanto (the Humanities and Language).

Congrats to all that participated in the Chicken Olympics. Taking the Gold - Jamaica, the Silver - France, and the Bronze - Azerbaijan. The coveted Sportsmanship award went to Germany. It was a fun day with lots of great events and participation.

New to Howard Street? Don't worry.
A special orientation and welcome for parents of 6th graders and new students will be Sept 15th at 5:45pm before our regular Open House/Back to School Night. The event will be held in the Little Theatre and will feature a question and answer session as well as some advice on how to transition into Howard Street presented by Mrs. Fischer, one of our Lead Teachers and a Howard Street Founding Teacher. Please join us and then stay for our Open House that will feature Howard Street's integrated curriculum and some tools like how to access the online gradebook.
