Howard Street Charter School is governed by a group of volunteer parent and community members. The Board of Governors sets policy that is consistent with the school's mission. The Board is responsible for selecting the school's administrator and leadership model. Board committees work cooperatively and collaboratively with school staff and the Howard Street community to achieve school goals. As a public charter school, Howard Street receives Salem-Keizer school district funds for school operation. The Board is responsible for managing the allocated public funds, which includes developing an annual budget and reviewing monthly financial statements.
